Our Mission

The Texas Association of Blind Athletes is a non-profit organization committed to enabling, supporting and inspiring individuals with athletic goals, regardless of visual acuity.

about us

TABA believes that everyone should have the opportunity to be an athlete, regardless of visual acuity. TABA helps visually impaired and blind athletes achieve their athletic goals, and heightens awareness of blindness in the athletic world. Participating in competitive sport is a large part of American culture, and being visually impaired or blind should not inhibit any individual from participating.

TABA strives to raise awareness and funds to help visually impaired and blind athletes succeed. Our fundraising efforts allow individuals to participate, travel and compete in a variety of athletic endeavors, including:

 

  • Goalball

  • Beep Baseball

  • Racing- Running, Cycling and Triathlons

  • Tandem Cycling

  • Other Recreational Activities
